Dr. Zahida Megji

Dr. Meghji completed a Bachelor of Sciences degree with Honours, at Western University, followed by a Master of Science degree at McMaster University.  Her Medical Degree was completed at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, and she did her psychiatry residency at McMaster University. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada. 

As a resident, her training occurred in a variety of settings, including St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton, Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, and Homewood Health Centre in Guelph. During this time she also worked as a locum psychiatrist at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre, working in the Emergency Department, Inpatient Unit and Outpatient Program. She also worked as a locum psychiatrist for Psychotherapy Matters, a collaborative outpatient program. 

Dr. Meghji currently holds a faculty position as a Lecturer at the University of Toronto.

Her current practice includes a mixture of inpatient, outpatient and emergency psychiatry work based at Trillium Hospital in Mississauga. Her outpatient work is based in an interdisciplinary, collaborative care setting, working at the Early Psychosis Intervention Program, where she provides care to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness as well as those from underprivileged populations.
