Mr. Ram Kalap

Mr. Ram Kalap is a registered psychotherapist and has been providing psychotherapy (individual and group) to clients for the past 25 years. He has been involved in many complicated cases, including those with mild to moderate brain injuries that can engage in psychotherapy as well as those who have concurrent disorders.

 

Mr. Kalap is highly engaged in volunteer work with mental health without borders and regularly takes part in overseas work in Guyana.

Ms. Dana Sauvé

Dana Sauvé completed an Honours Bachelor of Applied Science degree, specializing in Family and Social Relations at The University of Guelph in 1996. She obtained her Master of Social Work from Wilfred Laurier University in 1999 and is a registered social worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.

 

Dana has trained in various social work settings including child welfare, employment and income support, bereavement care, developmental services, medical social work, and children’s mental health.

 

Dana has worked in Grand River Hospital’s Outpatient Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Addictions Program since 1999. For 19 years, she provided psychosocial assessment, individual therapy, group therapy and parent support within the context of the Young Adult Program (A section 23 school/therapy day program for youth with diagnoses such as learning disabilities, ADHD, depression, anxiety, and autism spectrum disorder). For the past 3 years, she has worked with children ages 6-17 years of age and their families in the Psychiatric Consultation Clinic, Rapid Response Clinic and Transitional Support Services. In this role, Dana provides clinical services to children and youth experiencing acute mental health crises.

 

In her over 20 years’ experience in working with individuals and families, Dana has offered a person-centered approach to establishing rapport and trust within the therapeutic relationship. Together with her clients she assists them in setting measurable and meaningful goals. Dana regularly draws from various treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavoural Therapy and Mindfulness-based interventions.

 

Dana’s passion for helping others has grown out of her own personal experiences with loss, parenting, and supporting family and friends with mental health struggles and learning disabilities. Dana has witnessed and been inspired by the life-changing outcomes and successes that result from social work interventions. She looks forward to working with you as part of the PsycIME team by offering individual counselling to children, youth, and adults as well as parent support and education.
